Now patients can get their blood faster than earlier as the Rajasthan State Blood Transfusion Council (RSBTC) is making blood banks online in all the medical colleges across the state.
For this purpose, software named Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is being used that is developed with the help of the Department of Information and Technology Rajasthan.
With the system being online in all the blood banks, patients now can get their blood faster than earlier because with a click of the mouse, all the details of the blood required will be made available.
RSBTC Blood Safety joint director Dr Ashok Jain states that, “Online blood monitoring will ease patient’s requirement of blood for which they have to wait for hours with zero per cent human error in blood transfusion.”
In one day, approximately 1,600 units of blood are used in the hospitals for patients in the treatment during emergency and accidents. With this system being online, all the necessary details required will be available and patients will be helped as soon as possible, he added.
According to him, “Another benefit is that it will also help to curb those professional donors who charge money for blood donation as all the records of the people will be maintained” Secondly, with the use of online monitoring, all the data of blood banks will be computerised and this will help to relocate the donors whenever there is an emergency of requirement of blood.
There are a total of 45 blood banks in the state in which 28 blood banks are funded with the state fund; eight under the Rajasthan Health Development System Project, six under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and three under the CM scheme.
With an aim to encourage people to get enrolled for Aadhar card, the district administration is organizing Aadhar run starting from Monday 19th August till 23rd August, 2013.
According to Additional district collector Arun Garg , “The state government is organizing Aadhar week from Monday and various events will be organized during the week to create awareness among the people about the importance of Aadhar card.”
So far, the district administration has enrolled around 60% of the total population of Jaipur district but 40% of the people still have not been covered under Aadhar card. The demand for Aadhar card has reduced, so the week-long programmes would encourage the 40% who have not applied for their Aadhar card yet.
